Halle & Leipzig delivery

Most offices still haven't solved lunch.

Canteens cost too much. Food apps destroy the shared experience. Meal vouchers go unused. And every month, the up to €7.67 per working day your employees are legally entitled to sits unclaimed.

Canteens are too expensive

Running an in-house canteen costs a minimum of €200k per year in infrastructure alone. Not an option for a 50-person office.

Food apps kill the shared experience

Delivery apps mean 30 different orders, 30 separate bags, and zero shared lunch culture. Not a benefit. Just a distraction.

Meal vouchers go to waste

Paper vouchers are forgotten, lost, or spent on groceries. Usage rates rarely exceed 40 %. The budget disappears with nothing to show for it.

€7.67 sits unclaimed every working day

Every employee in Germany can receive a tax-free employer subsidy of up to €7.67 per working day (Sachbezugswert €4.57 + Essenszuschuss €3.10) under SvEV and §40 (2) EStG. Max. one main meal per working day. Most companies never activate it.

€153 per employee per month.

€7.67 × 20 working days. That is the per-employee cost of a fully subsidised daily lunch through Rivo Meals. The equivalent salary increase to deliver the same net benefit costs the employer significantly more in gross pay.

One line on the P&L.

€7.67 employer subsidy per working day (Sachbezugswert €4.57 + Essenszuschuss €3.10), max. one main meal per working day
Employee co-pay varies by meal price: €0.00 at the base price, higher for premium options
Sachbezug payroll documentation auto-generated. No manual HR work.
No canteen. No infrastructure. No complexity.

Teams that eat together stay together.

Employer benefit studies link subsidised lunch to significantly higher office attendance on delivery days
At €0.00 co-pay for the base meal, the participation barrier is effectively zero
One consistent weekly reason for the team to be in the office together
Trackable participation metric for hybrid-work HR reporting

Tax basis

Two compliant ways to deliver the tax-free meal subsidy. The tax-free employer subsidy applies to a maximum of one main meal per working day.

Route A — Flat-rate taxation (§40 (2) EStG)

The employer pays 25 % flat-rate tax on the Sachbezugswert (€4.57). Tax- and social-insurance-free for the employee.

Route B — Employee co-payment

The employee pays at least the Sachbezugswert (€4.57). No taxable benefit arises and no flat-rate tax cost for the employer.

Tax-free employer subsidy up to €7.67 per working day (Sachbezugswert €4.57 + Essenszuschuss €3.10). As of 2026 per SvEV. Maximum one main meal per working day. This is not tax advice.
